Community Services NFP

Integrated Strategy Model

The Brief

This large community services organisation had recently completed their strategic plan and been developing their next strategic arc to 2030.

Through this ideation process they identified a need for guidance in how to govern their strategy for success.

The Delivery

We worked closely with the Executive Team to articulate what success looks like for 2030, along with key progress indicators and milestones. We then co-designed the management model that would enable the strategy to be realised, identifying key barriers to success and opportunities to improve systems to support capability, capacity and impact. This was synthesised into a multi-year implementation roadmap.

Alongside this, we provided 1-2-1 coaching to the strategy and transformation lead to embed the capability to deliver over the horizon arc.

The Impact

The organisation had experienced significant growth over recent years and had outgrown its ways of working but did not want to lose its focus on impact or place-based context. Taking a highly consultative, iterative and reflective approach allowed us to create space for new possibilities to emerge. We connected this possibility mindset with pragmatic accountability, supporting leaders to critically reflect on what would be required to achieve their goals and develop clear behaviours for individual and collective responsibility.

The management model has been redesigned to support the next strategy arc, including development of new systems and frameworks for executive and senior leadership to deliver strategy alongside BAU.

Integration of strategy, business and resource planning, and risk management will follow, with phased implementation over three years to build capability, respond to operating context and learnings, and ensure staff are supported.
