Healthcare Software Company

Strategic Board Advisory

The Brief

This software company was established in response to a need to support the streamlining of hospital discharge processes and enable the placement of non-acute patients into appropriate care settings, alleviating the stressors that attribute to ramping and bed block issues in acute hospital environments. The client’s digital platform was implemented in 2023 and is currently utilised across Western Australia’s public hospitals for aged care placements.

After early-stage success, the client sought support to deliver its growth strategy and product development roadmap.

The Delivery

Due to the agile nature of start-ups, and the need for flexibility, we proposed a managed services model that allowed us to provide dedicated support without committing the client to the cost of an FTE.

We worked closely with the Group CFO and Board to advise and execute strategy, as well as managing the technology vendor.

The Impact

The primary focus of the software has been on reducing the longevity of hospital stays for vulnerable, elderly patients and making it easier for social workers, patients and their support networks to identify suitable care options and secure placements.

Beyond that, the focus has been on developing a robust technology platform to service these needs and to identify opportunities to grow its impact through aligned sectors and consumers. To this end, we have focused heavily on capturing consumer and user feedback, analysing the trends, and developing strategies to better support these cohorts through iterative product development.

Work has been done on market analysis and scenario testing to support strategy planning with the Board.
